The Fashion School in Cape Town.  Based in the Old Biscuit Mill, Woodstock.

On September the 16th, four of the seven Design Academy of Fashion students who made it to the finals of the Frankfurt Style Awards, had the opportunity to show in Paris at the Apparel Sourcing Trade Fair in Paris Le Bourget as part of the 30 best designs of the competition.

DAF third-year, Jenna Standish who had won the Outstanding Talent Award was, of course, also included.

The theme for the Frankfurt Style Awards this year was “Heimat 4.0” (Home, Homeland) and students were invited to design a garment using this as their inspiration.

Jenna chose Cape Town as her inspiration “as it epitomizes the best and worst of a big city. Business and money. Inspiration, excitement and astounding natural beauty. Crime and danger. These elements inspired my design.”

This was a wonderful opportunity for the students designs to be shown, once again, on an international platform.
