On Saturday, May 11, 2024, the students of the Design Academy of Fashion (DAF) teamed up with Jemma’s Make-Up to host an unforgettable make-up masterclass, marking a highlight of the year at our vibrant campus located in the Old Biscuit Mill. Known for its bustling Neighbourhoods Market, the Old Biscuit Mill provided the perfect backdrop for this exciting event.
The energy was palpable as over 200 attendees gathered at the Protea Room, eagerly anticipating the masterclass. Upon arrival, guests were warmly greeted by Jemma herself and received fabulous goodie bags sponsored by Essence and Catrice. Valued at over R500, these bags were a fantastic perk considering the ticket price was just R200.
Before the masterclass began, attendees enjoyed a selection of snacks and drinks, setting the stage for an engaging and educational experience. Jemma, with her vibrant personality and wealth of knowledge, captivated the audience as she demonstrated make-up techniques on two models. Her tips and tricks were not only practical but also inspiring, encouraging attendees to explore their own creativity.
This event perfectly encapsulated the synergy between fashion and make-up, two powerful forms of self-expression. At the Design Academy of Fashion, we believe that make-up, much like fashion, allows individuals to convey their identity, mood, and creativity. The collaboration with Jemma Make-Up highlighted how these two art forms complement each other, enhancing personal style and confidence.
